Second suspect charged in Canton drug-deal burglary

CANTON Authorities arrested a second suspect Tuesday in what police have said was a drug-deal burglary in which a woman was raped.

Bryant R. Binns, 27, is charged with two counts of felonious assault and a single count of aggravated burglary.

The case involves an April 30 incident at a home on Gilmore Avenue NW.

A woman named Brandy L. Ingram went to the home after arranging to buy drugs, said Lt. Dennis Garren.

Two masked men, one of them Binns, followed Ingram into the home. Binns showed a gun, shot at a man who lived there and pistol-whipped a woman. While the woman was unconscious, the other masked man raped her, according to court papers.

The suspects stole a gun and drugs from the home. Video cameras inside and outside the residence recorded the incident and showed that Ingram, Binns and the other man were working together, according to court papers.

Police arrested Ingram, 43, of 37th Street NE, Plain Township, last week on charges of complicity to aggravated burglary, two counts of complicity to felonious assault, cocaine trafficking and possession, and receiving stolen property.

Garren said federal marshals apprehended Binns in New Castle, Pa.

The third suspect remains at large.
