Rapper Hurricane Chris Arrested for Murder in Louisiana
Louisiana Rapper Hurricane Chris, best known for his breakthrough 2007 single “A Bay Bay,” has been arrested for second-degree murder.
the 31-year-old rapper, real name Christopher Dooley Jr., was arrested on Friday morning at a Texaco gas station in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dooley allegedly shot and killed a man on Friday at around 1 a.m. local time, initially telling police that he shot the unnamed man multiple times in self-defense following an alleged struggle over his car. Surveillance footage showed otherwise, however, cops have claimed.
The shooting victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and later died at Ochsner LSU Health hospital. Authorities from the Shreveport Police Department have also alleged that the car Chris was driving was stolen in Texas. As of right now, it’s not clear if there was a motive behind the shooting or what exactly the surveillance footage from the gas station showed that would indicate he “did not act in self-defense.”
While he hasn’t released a full-length studio album since 2009’s Unleashed, Chris has worked with the likes of The Game, Boosie Badazz, Ty Dolla Sign, and Mike Jones among others. In 2017, he released his most recent mixtape King Cane, but ever since he has maintained a relatively low profile.
