In compliance with the director of the Ohio Department of Health’s Stay at Home order, the City of Alliance announced additional city closures Monday, which were set to begin at 11:59 p.m. Monday and end at 11:59 p.m. April 6, unless revised by the state directives.
To protect the public as well as city employees, the following closures and modifications have been made:
» All city playground equipment is closed including the skateboard equipment at Memorial Park.
» All park pavilions and park public assembly buildings are closed.
» The parks will remain open by the ODH director’s order, but appropriate social distancing is required and gatherings of any size are not permitted.
» The school lunch programs using the parks for distribution will continue. Social distancing and disinfection requirements must continue to be followed.
» In-person city meetings are canceled or postponed. Please use the normal telephone numbers or email to contact city departments and personnel. City phone and emails may be found on the Staff Directory section of the city website: cityofalliance.com
» The delay in the city income tax deadline is under investigation to determine the legal requirements to change the date.
» All entry ways to city buildings continue to be closed to the public with the following exceptions:
– The public entrance to the courthouse/police station on Market Street is at the discretion of Judge Andrew Zumbar. Please refer to the COVID-19 Response Protocols adopted by the Court.
– The administration lobby at 504 E. Main St. Access is open for drop-off of payments/forms only for the Water Billing, Income Tax, and Engineering Departments. Online and mail-in options continue as always.
– The public entrance to the health Department is at the discretion of the health commissioner.
» All city services are being maintained.
The city asks that individuals check on the elderly, the sick, and neighbors to make sure they have the help they need. When doing so, please remember the requirements for social distancing and disinfection.
