CANTON A woman was pistol-whipped and raped while unconscious during a drug deal gone awry, detectives say.
Authorities on Wednesday arrested a woman who was one of three people accused of participating in the incident, which took place at a home on Gilmore Avenue NW on April 30. Two suspects remain at large.
Brandy L. Ingram, 43, whose address was listed as Tuscarawas Street E on court records, is charged with aggravated burglary, two counts of felonious assault, cocaine trafficking and possession, and receiving stolen property.
The court records also show warrants have been issued for Bryant Binns, 27, who lives with her. The court records do not name a third suspect, and both men remained at large, said Lt. Dennis Garren, police spokesman.
According to the court records, Ingram is accused of arranging a drug buy at the home. She entered the home with two masked men.
The court records show that video inside and outside the home recorded the incident.
Binns is accused of pistol-whipping a woman in the house and knocking her unconscious. The other masked man then raped her, according to the court records.
Ingram, Binns and the other man allegedly took an undisclosed amount of drugs and a gun from the home. Before they left, the masked men shot at another resident, the court records show. The records do not say whether that person was struck.
Police who went to the house where Binns and Ingram had been staying on Wednesday seized a stolen gun, an undisclosed amount of cocaine and digital scales, the jail records show.
Ingram remained behind bars on Thursday, held in lieu of $325,000 bond pending a Canton Municipal Court hearing.
