AKRON man accused of running an illegal gambling operation out of his home has been arrested by deputies.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that it received complaints about high-vehicle traffic at a home on Beechnut Drive in Green.
Detectives opened a criminal investigation into gambling and drugs at the residence.
On Saturday, deputies searched the home and found gambling equipment, cash, a gun and suspected illegal drugs.
Adam Syed, 37, of Green was arrested and charged with gambling and operating a gambling house, and was transported to Summit County Jail.
According to Barberton Municipal Court records, Syed was previously convicted on gambling charges in the past.
