It happened at 2:30 a.m. in Canton Township.
CANTON TWP. As troopers questioned a driver they pulled over for traffic violations, a rear-seat passenger tossed a loaded gun and a bag of prescription pills out of the car window, investigators say.

was arrested early Sunday at Dueber Avenue SW near Faircrest Street, where the car was stopped, Stark County Jail records show.
Pugh is on parole from his 2018 conviction on charges of cocaine possession and failure to comply with police, according to Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction records.
According to the jail records, troopers with the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Canton post stopped the car he was riding at 2:12 a.m. Sunday for moving and equipment violations.
As the driver was being questioned in front of a troopers’ patrol car, Pugh threw the loaded .40-caliber semi-automatic Smith & Wesson handgun and a clear plastic bag containing 15 prescription pain-killers onto the grass.
Pugh was pulled from the vehicle and arrested.
According to the jail records, no one else was inside the vehicle.
Pugh was jailed on four felony charges: aggravated drug possession, carrying a concealed weapon, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and having weapons under disability.
The jail records did not show whether the driver was cited.
He remained behind bars Monday, held in lieu of $50,000 bond pending a Canton Municipal Court hearing.
