They seized guns, drugs, scales and cash when they arrested the suspect.
CANTON A northeast Canton man ran into his bathroom and tried to flush drugs down the toilet when county drug agents came into his home, investigators say.
Stark County Jail records do not say if the effort was successful, but the records show Terrence A. Crockett, 45,
of Schwalm Avenue NE, was arrested at 7 a.m. Wednesday and booked on seven felony drug charges.
According to the jail records, Stark County Metro Narcotics Unit agents got a search warrant and went to Crockett’s, and as they knocked open the door, they saw Crockett running into the bathroom.
They said they ran after him, arriving in time to find him trying to flush the drugs.
They searched Crockett’s home and found “large quantities of suspected crack cocaine, heroin and marijuana along with digital scales, baggies, cellular phones and a large sum of U.S. currency,” the jail records show.
They also seized three handguns and ammunition from Crockett, who had been previously convicted of felony drug charges and is currently awaiting trial in Tuscarawas County for having weapons under disability.
Crockett was jailed on charges of cocaine trafficking and possession, heroin trafficking and possession, trafficking in a controlled substance, evidence tampering and having weapons under disability in Stark County.
Stark County court records show he went to prison in 2002 and 1998 for cocaine possession in 1997 for corruption of a minor and in 1996 for felony drug abuse.
Crockett remained behind bars Thursday, held in lieu of $100,000 pending a Canton Municipal Court hearing.
