CANTON A southwest Canton man who was a guest at a Canton woman’s home is accused of sexually assaulting her after she fell asleep.
Brian S. Howard, 47, of Roslyn Avenue SW, was arrested at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Raff Road NW on a rape warrant, Stark County Jail records show.
He and the victim had been acquaintances and he was “a welcome guest in her home,” police spokesman Lt. Dennis Garren said. At some point, she fell asleep and Howard raped her, according to city police and Stark County court records.
Howard remained behind bars Wednesday, held in lieu of $100,000 bond pending a Canton Municipal Court hearing.
