Akron Man displays gun in dollar store robbery

Akron police are looking for a man who displayed a gun while stealing cigarettes from a store.

Police said officers responded shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday to the Family Dollar on East Cuyahoga Falls Avenue to a report of a robbery. A store clerk told police a man entered the store and approached the counter.

The man displayed the butt of a gun and demanded the employee open the register. He then fled the store with an unknown amount of cigarettes and no cash.

Police said the suspect was described as a 40-to-50-year-old man, between five-foot 7-inches and 5-foot 10-inches tall, and weighing about 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and a camouflage bandanna mask.
